Former Manhattan prosecutor and Judge Leslie Crocker Snyder was appointed Special District Attorney to investigate circumstances surrounding the dismissal of murder charges against ex-FBI Supervisory Special Agent R. Lindley DeVecchio in November, 2007. She issued a report concluding that the alliance between DeVecchio and Mafia hitman Greg "The Killing Machine" Scarpa Sr. exposed "a dramatic picture of corruption" that "warrent(ed) further investigation." PL Snell expose on rawstory

On March 18th, the cutting edge web source rawstory.com put Peter Lance's exposé of Elliott Spitzer confident Dietrich Snell on page one. On Feb. 29th, rawstory published a related piece citing Snell, the former Senior Counsel to the 9/11 Commission for his apparent suppression of evidence linking a Saudi defense contractor to two of the 9/11 hijackers. The piece gave new weight to renewed calls for a re-opening of the investigation into the September 11th attacks.
